What is WebDAV?

WebDAV stands for “Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning.” It is a set of extensions to the HTTP protocol which allows users to collaboratively edit and manage files on remote web servers.

What does that mean for AKO?

AKO WebDAV allows you to set up a folder on your computer that lets you access the entire AKO file structure (that you have permissions to see) directly from your desktop as if they were normal Windows folders. If you’re familiar with shared network drives (commonly a S: or Z: drive), it makes AKO Files look and work like that.

Key Features:

* Setting up AKO WebDAV only takes around 2 minutes! Instructions on how to set up AKO WebDAV on your computer are provided through the below link.

* You can view, edit, upload, and even delete your files.

* AKO WebDAV is now CAC Enabled.

* You can drag and drop folders worth of files at once, and they’re immediately uploaded to the portal! Likewise, you can drag and drop to download folders worth of data from the portal to your desktop.

* If you open a file in the AKO WebDAV folder for editing (Word, Excel, etc.), every time you Save the document, it will instantly create a new version of the document on the portal!
